About Us
About Us
The Corps of Drums was formed on 2nd July 2001 by a few like minded people who decided to set up a Corps of Drums primarily for Ex-Service Drummers in and around Yorkshire. We wanted to have direct association with the Army so we have become members of the Reserve Forces and cadets Association. The Corps has 24 members who are all Ex Corps of Drums. Our membership includes ex  Drummers from the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Scots Guards, The Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment, The Green Howards, The Duke of Wellingtons Regiment, The Honourable Artillery Company, The East & West Riding Regiment and the Yorkshire Volunteers, and other Regiments and associations, see our members page you may know one of them.

The instruments played are:
1st Bb Flute 2nd Bb, 1st F, Piccolo, side drums. Bass drum and Cymbals
.

The selection of music is mainly traditional military music with some well known pieces of music.

We meet at Leeds TA Centre which is in Harewood Barracks Regent Street Leeds LS7 1AT just off the A64, once a month for a full Corps of Drum playing together on 2nd Wedneday of each month, for a practice night and to  brush up on playing on other Wednesdays of each month if you would like to. Timings is 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The key component for any Corps of Drums are its people, Greg Tunesi has written to all appropriate Guards, Infantry of the line and Territorial Battalions and relevant Regimental Associations.
We are keen to net work with other Corps of Drums. All local cadet drummers have an open invitation to join us for training or just to come along and play. We have worked in co-operation with the Royal Artillery Association Corps of Drums, which was based in Wakefield, several of us are members of the Honourable Artillery Company Drummers Association and many of us are members of the Corps of Drums Society.

Membership is available to men and women who are interested in playing drum and flute music and bugle calls, there are no age restrictions. We have developed a great team spirit with every individual bringing their own exclusive contribution.
